Paediatric First Aid

Ashwood Health offers two versions of the Paediatric First Aid course:

First Aid International Paediatric Care Initiator Course, a six hour programme with all the Primary Care skills including:

  • Scene assessment and safety
  • CPR (infant, child and adult)
  • Choking management (infant, child and adult)
  • Control of bleeding
  • Shock management

This course is ideal for parents, grandparents, baby sitters and work places where children may be encountered.  This meets the recommendations by the HSE for Appointed Persons in the Workplace, and is valid for three years.

First Aid International Paediatric Course, a 12 hour programme with all the primary Care skills plus Secondary Care skills including:

  • Illness assessment
  • Respiratory problems
  • Meningitis
  • Injury assessment
  • Motor vehicle passenger safety
  • Fire prevention
  • Allergies
  • Febrile convulsions
  • And much more

This Paediatric course is designed for Teachers, Child Care staff, Nursery staff, Nannies, and parents, baby sitters and grandparents that want a greater awareness of child welfare in emergency situations.

The 12 hour programme is recognised by CACHE- Council for Awards in Children’s Care and Education, PLA- Preschool Learning Association, NCMA- National Vocational Qualifications in Care, and meets the requirements of OFSTED for Early Years First Aid Provision.

Ashwood Health is a recognised provider of First Aid Training for Nottinghamshire Early Years Educational Department.

Both the 6 hr. and the 12 hr programmes meet the recommendations by the HSE for Appointed Persons in the Workplace, and are valid for 3 years.
